Dundee food lowdown

As I mentioned I've been in Dundee for the week - and I don't actually think  I've had a bad meal here (unless you count my rather uninspiring breakfast buffet - which I'd rather not) Here's a low down of places (I'm also trying to better at reviewing places I've been so here are some of the facebook reviews too) :

The Bach - https://www.facebook.com/thebachdundee/ - Fab Place, up a million flights of stairs in a carpark - had fantastic meatball pasta for lunch an my companion had an amazing vegan curry. Had a New Zealand lemonade I'd never heard of. 100% would recommend.

Tinsmiths - https://www.facebook.com/tinsmithdundee/ - Popped in for a coffee and a breakfast roll - amazing haggis in a brioch bun and fantastic coffee for a very reasonable price.

avery & co - https://www.facebook.com/averyandco - Here for breakfast - Lovely smoked salmon and some of the best scrambled eggs I've had in a long time - excellent coffee too.

The Braes - https://www.facebook.com/braesbar/ - quite noisy but allowed me to have a magnificent macaroni cheese on nachos. Good beer reasonably priced.

Duke's Corner - http://www.dukescorner.co.uk/ - had a very sizable burger for lunch, which was good, and good fries too. Excellent beer selection.

Dr. Noodles - http://www.drnoodles.co.uk/ Very, very speed and the 'regular' size was massive - but super tasty and cheap. Looked like you were eating in Blade runner and led to lots of conversations about what his Phd might be in etc

Kobee - http://www.kobee.co.uk/ - so this was our 'fancy' night out since we didn't go to the Gala dinner in a 'castle' - and it didn't disapoint - even if the portions were massive.

The Wine Press - this was a lovely post fancy dinner drink place, had a very pleasing Kentucy Bourbon, all very reasonably priced too.

Brewdog - Pieminister Pies, in a box were a bit odd - but an excellent beer selection enjoyed by all.

... and actually, despite their inability to do breakfast all that well a big up to the Holiday Inn Express that served me a perfectly pleasent chicken Ceaser Salad when I was too titred to talk to anyone anymore

Good day at the office..

... Had the first of two weekend open days in Feb (there's a bunch of Wednesdays ones too) and it's deep in Interview season. Today consisted of 2 very bouncy talks on our awesome portfolio of awards, a big mac meal wolfed down in a couple of mins and between us we interviewed around 40 students (and some of them were very, very good - next years intake is looking awesome) Not much else, Pete has the Bear & Pheasant tonight so I'm going to put my feet up, watch The Clone Wars DVD that turned up and relax a bit. I'm currently full of chocolate, marshmallows and white citrus tea, having watched the last part of The Art of Russia - making me want to go back to Russia and wishing I'd have been a bit freeier too explore when I was there. One day I'll go back, take Pete, learn to tell the difference between sour cream and mayonnaise and stay away from the cabbage dumplings, especially for breakfast. But it's been a very busy week - got invited down to an awes
