Meat Feast Week 2

It's possible a week of eating home made Egg McMuffins every day for breakfast is not healthiest way forward, but it was enjoyable. I've mixed it up this week with some slightly mutant 'Breakfast Burrito Bites' - Mine were tasty, but not as pretty, although I might try a different muffin pan or invest in a silicone one (and when I mean invest, they'll be in Home Bargain / Poundland next time I'm that way) - I almost made them in silicone cup cake cases and decided at the last minuet not to, and since they got stuck on the muffin tin they don't look as pretty as they could do. Anyway, reheated in work's microwave they were super tasty - even if some of the lurid green salsa I brought back from Mexico looked a little unappealing in the morning light.

It seems everyone's getting into the make ahead vibe, The Guardian has a  new series of 'get ahead' articles.

I tried a different tact with my shopping this week - not planning quite so much and seeing what appealed to me in the local co-op, for a bit of excitement. Not much, but I've got some discounted ready meals for work and a steak pie for dinner tonight (and lunch tomorrow). I've got plans up until the next veg box arrives on Wednesday but tonight I'll try and do justice to the first of the seasonal asparagus that turned up last week.

Good day at the office..

... Had the first of two weekend open days in Feb (there's a bunch of Wednesdays ones too) and it's deep in Interview season. Today consisted of 2 very bouncy talks on our awesome portfolio of awards, a big mac meal wolfed down in a couple of mins and between us we interviewed around 40 students (and some of them were very, very good - next years intake is looking awesome) Not much else, Pete has the Bear & Pheasant tonight so I'm going to put my feet up, watch The Clone Wars DVD that turned up and relax a bit. I'm currently full of chocolate, marshmallows and white citrus tea, having watched the last part of The Art of Russia - making me want to go back to Russia and wishing I'd have been a bit freeier too explore when I was there. One day I'll go back, take Pete, learn to tell the difference between sour cream and mayonnaise and stay away from the cabbage dumplings, especially for breakfast. But it's been a very busy week - got invited down to an awes...
