Cooking at work

My office is right next to the buildings tiny kitchen, equipped with an interesting rag tag bunch of appliances. There is, 1 microwave, 1 dishwasher, 3 fridges, 1 with an icebox compartment, 3 kettles, 3 toasters, a george Forman mini grill and a scary toaster oven contraption legend has it someone brought as part of a science experiment.

I'm guessing it's all donated items, or scavenged, and there's a good selection of crockery and cutelery. No one is stupid enough to leave prized mugs there but it's a nice space even if no one ever eats there. But then there's only 6 chairs and there's hundrads of people in the office do maybe that's a good thing. We'd have to take it in shifts.

Since I'm vowing not to move office again, I did that enough last year, I've gotten quite attached to my new office location, and I've been exploring exciting ways to combine that collection of equipment into new and exciting ways in ever increasing elaborate lunches. My eventual goal is a 3 course meal or maybe a Christmas party, until then I've really only explored toasted sandwiches ( both in the George Forman grill, and using a poundland toasty bag in the only toaster with a digital display) I've also taken to stocking up on expensive american imported pop tarts for a bit of excitement. I also know you can cook things in a dishwasher.

So, what else can I make in my little office kitchen (that looks like this - because I was bored and playing with Skitch on the ipad)

Good day at the office..

... Had the first of two weekend open days in Feb (there's a bunch of Wednesdays ones too) and it's deep in Interview season. Today consisted of 2 very bouncy talks on our awesome portfolio of awards, a big mac meal wolfed down in a couple of mins and between us we interviewed around 40 students (and some of them were very, very good - next years intake is looking awesome) Not much else, Pete has the Bear & Pheasant tonight so I'm going to put my feet up, watch The Clone Wars DVD that turned up and relax a bit. I'm currently full of chocolate, marshmallows and white citrus tea, having watched the last part of The Art of Russia - making me want to go back to Russia and wishing I'd have been a bit freeier too explore when I was there. One day I'll go back, take Pete, learn to tell the difference between sour cream and mayonnaise and stay away from the cabbage dumplings, especially for breakfast. But it's been a very busy week - got invited down to an awes...
